How does teeth whitening work?
Most teeth whitening treatments use a whitening gel formulated with either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide which penetrates the enamel of the tooth, breaking down the discoloured molecules. What is the treatment like?
First, Dr Rohan will prepare the mouth to receive the treatment, protecting the gums, lips, and oral tissue. Then, the whitening gel will be applied to the teeth and the WhiteSpeed Blue LED will be directed at them. Dr Rohan will repeat this process up to three times during the treatment, leaving you with a smile that lights up the room.
How long does the treatment take?
With Philips, it’s Zoom by name, Zoom by nature. This treatment takes just 60 minutes in the chair, meaning you can be in and out of here with an instantly whiter smile during your lunch break or between important meetings.
Is it painful?
Some patients can experience sensitivity when receiving teeth whitening treatments, but it shouldn’t be painful. Dr Rohan protects the rest of the mouth and gums throughout the treatment, making sure they’re well taken care of, and ensuring your comfort throughout.
How much whiter will my teeth be?

Should I avoid certain food and drinks?
Dr Rohan recommends avoiding food and drinks that are known for staining the teeth after receiving your teeth whitening treatment. The fewer of these substances you consume, the longer your treatment will last, although top-ups are available and there are toothpaste and serums available that can help prolong your results too.
Can I whiten my crown/veneer/restoration?
Teeth whitening does not work on restorations such as bridges, crowns, fillings or veneers – or on composite bonding.
